The Commissioner for Health stated that the state government holds the health of the state as priority and the drugs will be distributed at no cost to people living HIV in the state. The distribution, according to her, will be based on the three senatorial districts of the state to ensure that everyone on the program have easy access to the drugs.
She also disclosed that the monthly N1, 000 being charged before for the drugs had been stopped by the state Ministry of Health to ensure the drugs' accessibility in the state.
Dr. Vilita noted that more than 3,300 people had benefited from the anti-retroviral drugs, adding that with the free distribution of the drugs, more people living with HIV in the state would have access to them.
