Impact mitigation according to President Obasanjo, is the new focus to reach the over 1.4million AIDS orphan in Nigeria . Expressing the hope that the new policy will in the next one year cater to the welfare of the teeming population of orphans such that they can be properly integrated into the society. President Obasanjo further spoke about the great desire of his government in the control of HIV/AIDS , to maintain a balance between prevention, treatment and mitigation while responding to the need s of the most affected. He spoke at an event to mark the world AIDS day in Abuja.
