Estimated number of people living with HIV/AIDS is put at 79,000.

HIV/AIDS prevalence rate is put at 6.8%, higher than the national rate of 5.6%

Only about 10,000 from 79,000 people have access to Anti retroviral drugs.

Only 2000 people are on the Federal Government free drugs program.

The remaining 8,000 from the 10,000 who rely 0n ARV depends on outside sources for their drugs which costs up to N7,000 monthly.

There is only one CD4 testing machine in the whole state.

ARV be assessed only in Gombe town.
